NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -The North Platte chapter of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) partnered with Cajun Prairie for a fundraiser luncheon. For ten dollars, people could get red beans and rice or jambalaya and their choice of sides. Each dollar raised goes into their donation bucket which helps veterans throughout the area.
The fundraiser also served as a reminder to the public that there is a local chapter in our community helping veterans and eager to assist others.
“We help out with many of the veterans in the surrounding areas, not just in North Platte. We are here to help out the veterans. That’s the whole organization, we are veterans helping veterans. It is a tight-knit community,” said DAV Commander Brook Baker.
