Norfolk hosting gun-rights event at library tonight

NOFOLK, Neb. — A discussion in northeast Nebraska is aiming to bring out gun owners this evening. The topic of discussion? The Second Amendment.

The Nebraska Firearms Owners Association is hosting a town hall in Norfolk at 5:00 p.m. in the Norfolk Public Library. The group says it will be discussing the importance of recent local-level resolutions.

Organizers say the movement began after Gov. Pete Ricketts issued a state proclamation declaring Nebraska a “Second Amendment Sanctuary State.”

Ricketts, upon issuing the proclamation, said Nebraska is “in opposition” to recent executive orders by the Biden administration, in addition to several bills proposed by the U.S. House of Representatives.
