LINCOLN, NE — News Channel Nebraska announced today that the TV network will televise the 2021 Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) State Track Championships.
News Channel Nebraska (NCN), through a partnership with the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) and the NSAA, will provide live TV coverage of all championship track events on Thursday and Saturday from Burke Stadium in Omaha.
News Channel Nebraska televised the NSAA State Track and Field Championships for the first time in 2019, and after the COVID-19 pandemic saw the 2020 event canceled, NCN is excited to showcase the unique event to the entire state for a second time.
“Nebraska’s state track meet has been a fan favorite for decades. We’re so excited to once again bring the sights and sounds of the meet into homes across Nebraska as student athletes compete to find out who is the best of the best,” NCN Founder Mike Flood said.
The locally owned network continues to televise championship level events on a statewide scale. This spring, NCN televised a state quarterfinal soccer match for the first time. News Channel Nebraska has also made televising the first and second rounds of the state basketball tournament a staple of its winter sports coverage. In addition, NCN has partnered with the NSAA to cover the Six-Man State Football Championship as well as State Play Production, Journalism, and Unified Bowling Championships over the past several years.
