Metal rods pierce SUV during crash, totaling the vehicle

NORFOLK, Neb. -- An SUV crashed into a parked trailer Monday night, totaling the SUV and causing minor injuries.

Norfolk Police was called to the crash near the 800 block of East Bluff Avenue in southeast Norfolk at approximately 10:00 p.m.

NPD says a Ford SUV driven by a Norfolk woman had collided with the parked trailer, which was carrying a large amount of lumber and metal rods.

Officers say the metal pierced the vehicle’s front end. The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Authorities used construction equipment to detach the vehicles. There was no estimate regarding the amount of damage sustained at the scene.
