Man convicted in Gage County fails to return from state work release

BEATRICE – A Gage County man serving a state prison term has gone missing. Armando Lerma did not return to the Lincoln Community Corrections Center, following his work assignment Wednesday night.

Lerma began his sentence, May 20th of last year…..serving a three-year term on Gage County methamphetamine and marijuana drug convictions and for operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.  He had a tentative release date of November 17th, of this year. 

Lerma is described as a 40-year-old white male, five-feet eleven inches tall and 225 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.  Anyone with knowledge of his location is asked to contact local law officers or the Nebraska State Patrol.

Community Corrections inmates are allowed to participate in work, school or religious activities with prior approval and without direct supervision.
