Man arrested after poking a screwdriver through the wall of someone’s apartment

A Lincoln man called police Wednesday night after he heard a strange sound coming from behind the refrigerator in his apartment.

Around 9:30 p.m., the man heard scratching in his apartment near 14th and E Streets, so he pulled the refrigerator forward and saw a screwdriver poking through the wall from the bathroom of an adjacent apartment. “What are you doing?” he asked.

The man on the other side of the wall responded, “What are youdoing?”

The property owner told officers that the apartment where the screwdriver-wielding man was should be empty because the previous tenant had been evicted.

Police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing.
