LSO: Man suffers traumatic hand injuries after fireworks explosion

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A southeast Nebraska man is in the hospital after a fireworks injury.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says it happened Saturday night.

Authorities say a 44-year-old Hickman man was trying to fire an artillery shell that detonated early. He sustained traumatic injuries to both of his hands.

The man's injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
