LPD: Man breaks into couple’s home, eats their food

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Police say a Lincoln man broke into a home and ate food in the couple's basement.

Authorities say they were called to a home on Elk Crest Circle in Lincoln Wednesday morning. The couple that lived there told police they could hear noises coming from the basement.

Officers looked and found the man inside the storage room of the basement. Police say he had gone through containers and eaten some of the homeowners' food.

Authorities say they think the man got in through an unlocked sliding glass door and damaged a fence.

The man was arrested and is facing burglary charges.
