Lincoln woman scammed out nearly $25K

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A Lincoln woman is out thousands of dollars after falling victim to a scam. 

Lincoln Police say the 43-year-old victim was told there was a package stuck in customs and she needed to pay to get it. 

The scammers said she needed to pay $42,000 to get the package. 

The woman sent payments totaling $24,600. 

Police say she is still getting text messages to give payments. 

An investigation is underway.
