Lincoln police officer resigns after he’s accused of providing alcohol to his underage girlfriend

A Lincoln police officer has resigned after an investigation into an incident in which he is accused of providing alcohol to his 19-year-old girlfriend.

Investigators with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office cited Scott Bierle on suspicion of procuring alcohol for a minor and cited the 19-year-old on suspicion of minor in possession of alcohol. After the citations were issued, Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister began an internal investigation, Lincoln police said Friday.

The investigation concluded Monday. Bierle submitted his letter of resignation Tuesday, officials said.
