Lincoln Man Shot, No Arrests Made

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police continue to search for a suspect after a shooting Thursday night near 48th and Adams. Police said a 20-year-old man was shot just before 8:30 p.m. The victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim remains in the hospital Friday morning with non-life threatening injuries. Lincoln Police said a group of people were inside a home at 3041 N 48th Street shooting dice, when a man known to them entered, demanded money, and started firing. Multiple shots were fired from a handgun, and the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled on foot. At least two K9 teams were called in to track down the suspect while officers searched the area. The incident happened not far from the Nebraska Wesleyan campus, however police said the victim is not a Nebraska Wesleyan student. Shortly after the shooting, Wesleyan tweeted asking students to stay in their buildings. Later the school tweeted police had given the all clear and the suspect or suspects were no longer believed to be in the immediate NWU area.
