Lincoln man killed woman before he killed himself, police say

Lincoln police said Wednesday they have determined that two people found dead last week in a Lincoln home were killed in a murder-suicide.

Interviews and forensic evidence indicate Adnan S. Almansouri, 48, shot and killed Rasha M. Khaled, 35, and then fatally shot himself, police said.

Just after 5 p.m. Thursday, Lincoln police officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 1100 block of Geranium Drive, which is northwest of 14th and Superior Streets. Officers found the couple’s children outside the home: a 14-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy, a 10-year-old girl, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl. Officers entered the house and found Almansouri and Khaled dead from gunshot wounds.

Autopsies determined that Khaled sustained gunshot wounds to the head, shoulder and back, while Almansouri sustained a single gunshot wound to the head.

Numerous interviews and evidence recovered from the residence suggest that the couple had a volatile relationship, police said.

The firearm used in the shootings was legally purchased and owned by Almansouri, police said.

Officials said the children remain in the care of a family member.
