Lincoln man arrested for alleged theft, assaulting jailer

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln Police have arrested a man for breaking into an apartment and breaking a jailer's leg.

Officers were called to an apartment Thursday morning. The landlord told police a door had been kicked in and someone was still inside the unit.

Officers then found and arrested the suspect, 32-year-old Luis Corral, for theft and trespassing.

While at the jail, police say Corral was uncooperative and began to struggle with the jailers.

As a result, a corrections officer fractured their leg which required hospitalization.

The suspect is now facing additional charges for the assault.
