Leyton Public Schools to offer free food to all students this school year

DALTON, NE — Students at Leyton Public Schools can get a meal for free all school year long.

The district announced they will serve meals for free to all enrolled students for the 2021-22 school year. This is made possible through the USDA's Seamless Summer Option.

Parents will need to submit a new meal application for the upcoming school year. School officials say, the funding for the program depends on those applications being completed.

Only one application is needed for each household. In Leyton's case, applications will be available in student packets and in offices at the schools in Dalton and Gurley.

If you receive a direct certification letter from the school indicating your free or reduced status for the upcoming school year, you do not need to fill out an application.
