Inmate missing after leaving work assignment and removing monitor

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Friday night, authorities were notified of a missing inmate, 34-year-old Michael Louis #210577, from the Community Corrections Center - Lincoln (CCC-L). Louis left his work assignment and removed the electronic monitoring device he had been wearing. 

Authorities said Louis started his sentence on November 7, 2019 with a tentative release date of April 16, 2022. He was sentenced to five years for charges out of Gage County. These charges included fourth offense driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license and third-degree domestic assault. 

The release said that Louis is a 34-year-old Native American man. He is 6' and 176 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. 

Authorities ask that anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts contact local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
