NORFOLK, Neb. -- Construction is set to begin on a stretch of Highway 275, with the goal of widening the highway.
The project will begin between Scribner and West Point, adding an extra lane to each side of the road.
The project is part of a much larger expansion of highways across Nebraska. It has been delayed for a number of years, and for a number of reasons.
But NDOT officials tell News Channel Nebraska that it has always been moving forward, even if people haven't been able to see the progress.
NDOT says it will work with a number of organizations to finalize a design. Officials say the pandemic delayed things that had already been pushed back because of the historic flooding of 2019.
Even the market crash of 2008 had an impact on the project.
The roadwork between West Point and Scribner is scheduled to end in 2024.
