Hail, damaging winds reported in storm

NEBRASKA CITY - A storm system moved through River Country Friday morning bringing a tornado warning, hail larger than a golf ball, 60 mph winds and up to 2" of rain.

The tornado warning was triggered by radar indication of a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Bern, Kan.

Hail larger than a golf ball, but smaller than a tennis ball was reported in Nemaha County near Auburn.

Rainfall total of 2" were reported in Saunders County. Nemaha County reported over an inch and a half.

Trees were reported down near DuBois, Neb.

1:14 p.m. – OPPD reported power outages at 1:14 p.m., including 26 in Nemaha and 16 in Johnson County.

1:14 p.m. – OPPD reported power outages at 1:14 p.m., including 26 in Nemaha and 16 in Johnson County.

12:53 p.m. – Brenner Field at Falls City reports 55 mph wind gust a temperature drop from 86 to 70.

12:55 p.m. – Hail larger than golf ball, but smaller than tennis ball reported south of Auburn near Highway 75.

12:42 p.m. – 2” rain reported in Saunders County.

12:05  p.m. – trained weather spotter reports 50 mph wind in Pawnee County.

12:40 p.m. - Trees down near Dubois and Highway 50

12:38 p.m. OPPD reports 16 power outages in Johnson County.

12:24 p.m. – 60 mph wind gust reported in Nemaha County, Kan .
1.75 inches rain east of Tecumseh. Trained spotters say 1.5 inches of rain south of Auburn.

12:20  p.m. – NWS issues severe thunderstorm warning for Richardson and Pawnee counties until 1 p.m. radar indicates severe thunderstorm near Humboldt.

 12:11 p.m. – trained spotter reports 50 mph wind near Pawnee City.

12:11 P.M. - NWS storm warning for SW Atchison County in Missouri until 12:45 p.m. Storm located at Auburn moving east at 20 mph. 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail are possible hazards. Interstate 29 impacted.

11:45 a.m. –NWS issues severe thunderstorm warning for western Richardson and southeastern Pawnee County until 12:30 p.m.

11:36 a.m. – Law enforcement reports quarter size hail in Nemaha County.

Radar indicates a thunderstorm near Pawnee City moving east at 30 mph. Table Rock, Humboldt in warned area.

Update  - Plattsmouth airport reports wind gust of 31 mph. Wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph over an hour. Nebraska City airport reports 41 mph wind gust at 10:35 a.m. and 32 mph gusts at 11:15 p.m.

11:39 a.m. - Law enforcement reports 1" hail near Sterling

11:28 a.m. – storm cells with cloud rotation near Kansas state line near Summerfield.

11:18 a.m. OPPD power outage reports 10 power outages in Cass County, 850 in Douglas County, 353 in Sarpy County.

10:51 a.m.  - NWS issues thunderstorm watch

10:55  a.m. - Thunderstorm located between Palmyra and Sterling, moving east at 30 mph.

10:55 a.m. - NWS issues flood advisory for Lancaster County

10:55 a.m. - 1.5 inches of rain at Butler County, 1 inch at Lancaster County.
