Grand Jury finds no criminal wrongdoing in Wymore man’s jail death

BEATRICE – A Gage County Grand Jury has found no criminal wrongdoing in the in-custody death of a Wymore man.

The finding was issued in the investigation into the death of Mark Shawn Hadley on December 31st of last year.  The grand jury called last February convened Thursday, to hear evidence in the case….issuing its finding the same day.

The 53-year-old Hadley, of Wymore was found unresponsive in his Gage County Jail cell at around 10:57 a.m., December 31st

Corrections officers and jail medical staff immediately began CPR and requested an EMS crew from Beatrice Fire and Rescue…who arrived and continued CPR on the inmate.  Hadley was then transported to Beatrice Community Hospital. 

Hospital staff at the BCH Emergency Department continued CPR, but Hadley was declared dead at 12:18 pm.

Hadley was in custody on charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child at the time of his death.  The charges were filed last December 11th
