GRANT, Neb. - Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts will be among the attendees at the grand opening of Aurora Cooperative's new A-Stop 24 pump site north of Grant on Friday.
The new gas station will provide E10, E15, E30, E85 and diesel around the clock. The E15 blends and up all contain a higher-octane blend consisting of either 15%, 30% or 85% ethanol.
“With the E15 blend specifically being a new offering in the area, we are excited to see the response of the local consumers who will be using this cleaner-burning, less expensive fuel option which will help pump revenue back into the local community by utilizing Nebraska farmers’ corn for ethanol use," CEO of Aurora Cooperative Chris Vincent said.
E15 has been approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for use in all passenger vehicles model year 2001 or newer. Flex-fuel vehicles capable of operating on blends up to E85 (85 percent ethanol) can also use E15 regardless of model year.
The governor will be joined by area chamber members, Nebraska Corn and Ethanol Board representatives, and customers and employees of Aurora Cooperative. The ceremony off Hwy 61 begins at 2 p.m. MT.
“It’s always a positive when we can add businesses to our community that provide additional services to our patrons and those traveling through Perkins County,” President of the Perkins County Chamber of Commerce Jamie Picquet said.
Those who fill-up with ethanol-blended fuel between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. MT Friday will have their first $10 taken care of by Aurora Cooperative.
