From Grand Island reverend to bishop of Colorado Springs

Grand Island native Reverend James Golka has been installed as the bishop of Colorado Springs. 

In front of a packed church, the Episcopal ordination and istallation was held Tuesday afternoon.

Pope Francis named Father Golka at the end of April. As the third bishop for the Colorado Springs Diocese. He is the first in the Diocese of Grand Island ever to be named a bishop.

Golka had served as pastor of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Grand Island since 2016.
