Friday morning meth arrest in Norfolk business parking lot

NORFOLK, Neb. — Norfolk Police made an arrest Friday morning in the arrest of a business parking lot.

In a press release issued Monday morning, the Norfolk Police Division says an officer saw a parked vehicle with a person sitting in the driver’s seat, slumped over against the driver’s door.

While stopping to check on the driver, the officer said he observed a glass pipe sitting on the center console.

The driver was woken up and identified as 39-year-old Jesse C. Lentz of Almena, Kan. In a search, the officer said he located a small plastic container of methamphetamine, a syringe containing a small amount of liquid, and a soda can that had been used as what the officer described as a “methamphetamine cooker.”

Lentz was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
