Former Nebraska Wesleyan student allegedly trashed campus art studio

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A former Nebraska Wesleyan student was arrested after allegedly trashing an art studio on campus.

Thirty-eight-year-old Benjamin Buras faces burglary and criminal mischief charges.

Wesleyan staff reported finding a broken window at Lucas Hall and an art studio inside with extensive damage.

Staff said paint had been thrown all over the room, damaging walls, windows and artwork. They estimated the damage to be more than $8,000.

Police say a six-pack of beer was found at the scene, and that Buras had been seen buying the alcohol.

Staff suspected Buras because of an ongoing grievance he reportedly has with the university, where he was a student in 2014.
