SCOTTSBLUFF - One person was killed and another transported to Regional West Medical Center after a one-vehicle rollover in Scotts Bluff County on Wednesday, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
State Patrol Spokesman Cody Thomas confirmed Salvador Zambrano, 74, of Mitchell, died at the scene on Highway 26 near mile maker 18, just east of Sunflower Oil Road near Mitchell. The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m.
Zambrano was the passenger in a a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dora Zambrano, 66, of Mitchell. According to Thomas, Dora Zambrano was traveling west when the vehicle entered the median and crossed into the eastbound lanes. She overcorrected back into the median and the vehicle rolled.
An investigation determined both occupants weren't wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle.
Dora Zambrano was transported by Valley Ambulance to Regional West with serious injuries.
The Scotts Bluff Sheriff's Department and Mitchell Fire Department also responded to the scene.
