Falls City expects 85 percent of staff to be fully vaccinated by April 23

FALLS CITY – The Falls City School Board learned Monday that 85 percent of the staff is on track to be vaccinated for COVID-19.

School staff will be considered to be fully vaccinated on April 23, after a two-week inoculation period to build antibodies.

The school currently has two students in quarantine and none in isolation as of April 12.

Falls City Public Schools have had 352 individuals quarantined and 92 isolated since School Nurse Jenny Helmick  began tracking cases last fall.

Helmick reports that the number of quarantines would be much higher had masks not been worn.

In other action, the school board learned that the football stadium scoreboard fundraiser is just over $38,000. The sign by Daktronics and Roderick Signs is nearing completion. The $41,000 sign includes track and football scoreboard, as well as installation.
