Emerald Ash Borer resurfaced in Nebraska

COLUMBUS, Neb. -- An invasive pest has resurfaced in Nebraska.

The Emerald Ash Borer has been discovered in Columbus recently.

The small, metallic-green beetle, attacks and kills Ash trees.

Since August is National Tree Check Month, state officials are asking for people to take time to inspect trees for the beetle and other invasive pests.

The Emerald Ash Borer is native to Asia.

Experts believe it arrived in the US on solid wood packing material in the last 30 years.
