PONCA, Neb. — Authorities in Dixon County are mourning the loss of a friend and colleague.
The Dixon County Sheriff’s Office announced the passing of K-9 officer, Josie.
Officials say she passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday. K-9 Josie was 7-years-old and worked for the Dixon County Sheriff’s Office from 2015 to 2021.
The Sheriff’s Office says beneath the seemingly harsh exterior, Josie was a gentle soul that loved her job.
