Cornhusker State Games registration extended

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Cornhusker State Games have extended the registration deadlines to go through July. 

More than 7,000 athletes are already registered for the games, most of which take place July 16-25 in Lincoln, Omaha, Kearney, Columbus and other communities.

Competition is offered in 70 sports for athletes of all ages and abilities.

All sports with extended registration are listed below. Check to see if you still have time to sign up for your favorite sport.


Opening ceremonies are set for Friday, July 16th, featuring the parade of athletes, skydivers, fireworks, mascots, a retriever dog demo, and cauldron-lighting by former Husker and Major Leaguer Alex Gordon.

News Channel Nebraska will broadcast the opening ceremonies and the Men's Basketball Gold Division Championship Game live.
