Columbus man wins new truck from Nebraska Lottery

COLUMBUS, Neb. — At a time when new car prices are skyrocketing, one man in eastern Nebraska is walking away with a new truck he basically got for free.

When Michael Robertson learned he had won a new Ford F150 from the Nebraska Lottery, he was a little skeptical.

He took his ticket in to the Off Campus in Columbus to have his ticket scanned by a store clerk.

“She’s like, ‘Do you know what you won?’ I said ‘No, I don’t,” Robertson said. “She’s like, ‘You won the truck.’ I said ‘No, I didn’t.'”

He stopped by the store to pick up a store to pick up a pop on the way to baseball practice.

After he didn’t believe the store clerk’s claims that he had won the truck, employees pulled him behind the counter to show him.

It’s the fourth truck the Nebraska Lottery has given away this year. Trucks and Bucks is the most popular scratch game, but Robertson didn’t really bother playing. Instead, he went straight for the prize.

“I came out to my truck and just scratched off the bar code at the bottom.”
