Coaches and fans share Husker passion

The 'Big Red Blitz' officially returned on Wednesday as fans of all things Nebraska athletics came out to all of the different stops on the tour that included Norfolk and West Point.

The stop in Norfolk was hosted by the Midtown Event Center and included multiple Nebraska football coaches, the Head Girls Bowling Coach, and Associate Athletic Director, Matt Davison

The speakers and Husker fans were excited to be back with one another sharing their love of all things Nebraska athletics.

"It was great to be able to have face-to-face interactions and being able to talk about what everyone loves, which is Nebraska Athletics, " said Kassidy Otteman.

The Nebraska football team was a huge emphasis at the event and fans wanted to know how does the program look going into summer workouts. Assistant Coach, Mike Dawson is excited about the progress the football team has made so far this summer and where things are heading.

"We have tremendous attitude right now and I think the culture is taking shape of coach Frost's vision," said Mike Dawson.

West Point was another great stop for fans as the Big Ten Coach of the Year in baseball, Will Bolt, former NFL player, and linebacker coach, Barett Ruud, and Assistant Women's Basketball Coach, Chuck Love, all attended the event.

Will Bolt reflected on the past baseball season as in his first season as the head coach, he led the Huskers to a big ten regular-season title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament after not being as highly regarded before the season compared to other teams.

"We had a quiet confidence about us that we were going to play well," said Will Bolt about the recent success this year with Nebraska Baseball.

Overall, Nebraska fans and coaches were finally able to be back with each other sharing their passion for all things Nebraska athletics after a long pause, and that made it much more special.
