LINCOLN - Friday is the first day candidates running for office can officially file to have their name on the ballot for the 2018 primary election and Secretary of State John Gale is making it more convenient than ever.
Forms to file with the Secretary of State’s office are available online in what John Gale calls a “one stop shop,” for ballot information, filling fees and election deadlines.
The deadline to file for election for incumbents is Feb. 15. New filers have until March 1.
Candidates that must file with the secretary of state include state and national office holders, state board of regents, public service commission andcommunity college board.
