The body of 49-year-old man was recovered Monday morning from Ginger Cove, a lakeside residential area between Valley and the Platte River, in western Douglas County.
Officials said the body of Dennis J. McGuire, a resident of Ginger Cove, was found by authorities near the northwest end of the lake.
The body was discovered in less than 3 feet of water, just off the beach area, officials said.
McGuire was last seen on a pontoon boat on the lake about 1 a.m. Saturday.
An autopsy has been requested to determine the cause of death, officials said.
Sunday, heat and a morning thunderstorm hindered the search for the missing boater, authorities said.
Rescuers had to halt their search for about a half-hour when a storm, with lightning, moved into the area Sunday morning, said Assistant Chief Chris Hodgman of the Valley Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department.
He said he later became concerned about the well-being of rescue workers in the afternoon heat and called off the search about 2 p.m. Sunday, after about seven hours.
The search resumed Monday morning, Hodgman said.
