‘Art seeds’: Sidewalk creativity moves Wayne Chicken Show in artistic direction

WAYNE, Neb. - Sidewalks in northeast Nebraska are coming to life.

Carolyn Albracht, the owner of Blue Cat Gallery and Studio, organized a sidewalk chalk event in Wayne Friday.

She said her goal is to promote art during the Chicken Show.

"The Chicken Show has artistic roots. It got started by the arts council here in Wayne," said Albracht. "Since I've been here my goal has been to try to plant art seeds and move us back in that direction."

Only in its second year, the chalk event is starting to draw in more local artists and even organizations like Haven House are making their mark.

To see the dozens of designed sidewalks, visit 3rd Street in downtown Wayne.
