One Douglas County Commissioner moved today to cut the county's mill levy by one cent, arguing property valuations in the county have jumped considerably.

The board voted 4-1 against the tax cut, with Chairwoman Mary Ann Borgeson calling Cavanaugh's plan, "totally disingenuous."
According to Borgeson, Cavanaugh never raised the idea when the board was making budget decisions for the next year.
