Annual Duck Draw is United Way of Western Nebraska’s biggest fundraiser

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - It’s duck season! Well not for hunters but United Way of Western Nebraska (UWWN) has their own version of duck season.

UWWN said the Annual Duck Draw is their largest fundraiser of the year. Volunteers were at Taco Johns in Gering selling ducks for a good cause. The money from the ducks will go to 18 local agencies that focus on health, education and financial stability. There are 40 prizes duck purchasers have a chance to win including the top prize a 2021 RAV-4.

“We love our community our community is so supportive every year and so thankful for them,” said Jill Allen Special Events Coordinator UWWN. “We have all these businesses that sponsor this and help us make this possible. All the businesses that donate these amazing prizes all these volunteers that come out and help us sell the ducks and help with our events we couldn’t do any of this without our community.”

UWWN said the Annual Duck Draw happens Sept. 18. You can buy ducks at TEAM Auto Center, Main Street Market, First State Bank and Regional West Medical Center Gift Shop.
