Alliance man found guilty in 2020 stabbing death

ALLIANCE, Neb. -- A 67-year-old Alliance man is facing a prison sentence of 30 to 40 years for a stabbing in June of 2020.

George Smith was found guilty by a jury on charges of manslaughter after the death of Steven Oliver.

In the summer of 2020, Alliance Police found the 42-year-old victim with stab wounds at his home.

Following an investigation, officers said the manslaughter was the result of an argument.
