Air quality advisory through Wednesday for most of state

NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy issued an air quality update on Tuesday.

The update says moderate to unhealthy air for sensitive groups is expected through Wednesday.

The ranking of polluted cities today ranks Gretna at the top in Nebraska and includes Weeping Water in the state’s top.

Wildfires in U.S. and Canada are blamed for contributing to air pollutants.

An air quality index of 66 of fine particle matter is reported at Nebraska City, compared to 140 particle matter at Gretna.
