LINCOLN - While vaccines are rolling out and new infections are beginning to plummet, officials are warning people not to let down their guard- even if they are vaccinated
The Nebraska Department of Health Services confirmed today that a woman in Nebraska who was previously vaccinated has died of COVID-19.
Officials say the woman was 80 years old and had underlying health conditions.
Officials say out of the 2,244 people who have died from covid-19 in Nebraska, only one has died after being vaccinated - making the figure zero point zero four of all deaths.
The health department says, per the CDC, the death is not outside expected vaccine breakthrough patterns.
The department says the vaccines are safe and effective.
