BEAVER CROSSING - Authorities say two California men were arrested Wednesday after more than a quarter ton of marijuana was found in a traffic stop along Interstate 80 near Beaver Crossing. The Nebraska State Patrol says the stop happened just after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday near mile marker 370 when a trooper saw an eastbound truck failing to signal and having improper lighting. An NSP K-9 detected the smell of marijuana coming from the rear of the truck. After a search of the vehicle, troopers discovered 17 boxes of high-grade marijuana weighing 526 pounds with an estimated street value of $1.5 million. 27-year old Robert Rahon of Sacramento, California and 38-year old Felice Giorgetti of Huntington Beach, California were arrested on charges of possession with the intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp. Both were lodged in the Seward County Jail.
