19-year-old arrested in Norfolk on outstanding Lancaster County warrant, suspected drug possession

NORFOLK, Neb. – A 19-year-old is in custody facing multiple charges after an incident in Norfolk Thursday night.

Shortly before 8:00, a Norfolk Police officer observed a woman walking westbound on Nebraska Avenue. The officer believed the subject had a warrant for her arrest, which he later verified with dispatch.

The 19-year-old, who had a Lancaster County warrant for possession of a controlled substance, was later located on Koenigstein Avenue. When the officer made contact with the woman, she reportedly provided a fictitious name.

The woman was arrested for the outstanding warrant. After her arrest, a small backpack she was carrying was discovered to have a small plastic baggie and two syringes, with one of the syringes testing positive for methamphetamine.
