GRAND ISLAND – The bats came alive late for Northwest en route to a victory Tuesday evening.
The Vikings hosted Aurora and defeated the Huskies 9-1 in five innings with all of Northwest’s runs coming in the fourth inning or later.
Emily Stein led GINW by throwing a complete game while sitting down six batters. She also went 3-for-3 at the plate. Megan Anderson also had a big night going 3-for-4 with 2 RBI while Skylee Nelson (2-for-3, RBI) and Megan Furstenau (2-for-3, R) also had multiple hits. Halle Samples went 1for-3 with 2 RBI.
Bailey Collingham (2-for-3) drove in AUrora’s lone run of the game.
Northwest travels to Cozad on Thursday while Aurora hosts Central City.
