Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 21st, at 10:30 am in the Oconto Community Building with Pastor Bonnie Brock and Pastor Dave Mendyk officiating.  Burial will be in the Oconto Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday, November 20th, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Memorials may be offered to the Oconto Methodist Church, Oconto Fire and Rescue, or Oconto American Legion.

Roy was born on November 9, 1937, at Lexington, NE to Leon and Vivian (Orchard) James.   He made his home south of Oconto.

Roy loved the outdoors.  His monetary contribution to the building of the Viewing Overlook near Georgetown, Colorado provided many with a perfect view of the Big Horned Sheep that live in the mountains.  He was a steward of the land and took great pride in the family ranch he lived on all his life. For many years Roy owned and flew his own airplane and was a member of The Flying Farmers.   He enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing and hunting big game.  He was an avid fisherman and the biggest catch of his life was catching his wife, Gina.  They were married on May 23, 2006. Roy saw a whole new side of life when he married her.  His world opened up to seeing things through her eyes.  They traveled all over the United States and his joy came in showing her the beautiful Colorado Mountains, the states of Utah, Wyoming and South Dakota among many others.

Roy is survived by his wife, Gina James of Oconto.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
