Funeral Services for Norman F. Hartman, age 86

May 28, 1931 - December 14, 2017

Norman F. Hartman, 86, Loup City, died December 14, 2017, at Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City.  Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, December 18, 2017, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Duane Duley officiating.  Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery with Military Rites provided by Kearney American Legion Post #52, Kearney V.F.W. Norman was born May 28, 1931, on a farm north of Miller to George and Leona (Hanneman) Hartman.  Norman joined the Marines in 1952 and served during the Korean Conflict.  Norman married Doris Edlund on June 5, 1955, in Overton.  They farmed in Ansley and Taylor areas for a number of years before retirement.  Norman enjoyed ranching and farming, playing cards, and traveling after retiring.  Norman was always up for a new challenge throughout his life.  

Norman is survived by his son Allen Hartman of Ansley, NE; daughters, Sharon (Sherrie) and Tom Roberts of Ansley, NE, Kay and Mel Shermer of Taylor, NE; grandchildren, Matthew and Alyssia Roberts, Brian and Lindsy Roberts, Kiley and Levi Miller, Jarrod Hartman, Lindsey and Kurt Kulhanek, Kelsie Hartman, Logan and Rebecca Shermer, and Reed “Cooper” Shermer; great grandchildren, Kaden and Parker Miller, Kale and Kimeri Kulhanek, and Moxon and Raygan Shermer; brothers, Loren and Lorna Hartman of Kenesaw, NE, Alvin and Karen Hartman, and Arthur and Helen Hartman of Gibbon; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Norman was preceded in death by his wife, daughter-in-law Kimberly Hartman, and brother Harlan Hartman, and sister Esther Lee.
