Funeral Services for Margaret Fiske, age 96

Margaret Fiske, 96, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on July 20, 2019.  

        Per Margaret’s request there will be no services. Burial will take place on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at the New Helena Cemetery in Custer County Nebraska. In memory of Margaret, donations may be made to Wesley Glen Hospice at https://www.wesleyglen.com/giving/donate-now/.

Margaret was born July 31, 1922 to Robert and Gwendoline (Veale) Hannah in Macomb Illinois. At the age of two she moved to Pasadena, California, traveling by train. She attended Pasadena City College and went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley, in February 1942.

     She married her beloved husband Paul Bryan Fiske in July 1946 and was happily married until his death in April 2009. Margaret and Paul enjoyed their time at Mildenhall Air Force Base in England. 

     Margaret was a cellist from her youth. She played the cello and helped start the Antelope Valley Symphony in California. She also taught cello.

     Margaret was a Girl Scout leader for over 25 years. She was an expert cake baker and decorator.  Margaret was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church in Pasadena, Lancaster, and Encinitas CA. She served in many capacities, including the Altar Guild, and received awards for her work with the elderly. 

     Margaret is survived by her sisters Priscilla Clark and Judy Buff.

     Margaret will be greatly missed by her children; Michael (Maureen) Fiske, Susan (John) Koehler, Janis (Ed) Genest and Mary (Tony) Repucci; grandchildren, Emily Blakley, Matthew and Margaret Koehler, Dominic and Carmen Repucci; great-grandson, Quentin Blakley; German son, Bert (Anette) Kaib.

   Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Gwendoline (Veale) Hannah and her sisters, Dorothy Lewis and Marcia Farmer.
