Funeral Services for LaDonna Longmore, age 78
October 4, 1940 - January 5, 2019

LaDonna Longmore, 78 of North Platte passed away peacefully at her home on January 5, 2019, after a short battle with cancer.   She was born October 4, 1940, to Floyd and Addalecia (McFate) Patterson at Callaway, NE.  

She graduated from Callaway High School with the class of “58” and later attended Grace Bible College.  She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Stanley Longmore on September 5, 1959, at Callaway.  

LaDonna started playing the piano in high school and taught piano lessons for many years.  She played in church and with many groups.

As a family, they traveled extensively in their camper around the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  Stan and LaDonna spent 14 winters in Aransas Pass, Texas with their Texas family.

She enjoyed raising her kids in McCook and taking part in scouts and 4-H, and camping at the Red Willow Lake and Sherman Lake. LaDonna had worked at State Farm Insurance for a number of years.  

LaDonna was an active member at the First United Methodist Church for over 65 years, where she was involved in Sunday School Classes and Christian Women’s Club. She also was a leader at the Walk Emmaus Group #13.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley of North Platte; daughter, Sherri Byrd of McCook; son, Paul (Peggy) Longmore of Kearney; two brothers, Norm (Lynetta) Patterson and Charles (Barbara) Patterson; grandchildren, Leah Longmore of Omaha, Dan (Ginny) Longmore of Grand Island; great-grandchildren, Oakley and Evelyn Longmore of Grand Island.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a nephew, Bruce Patterson, and a brother-in-law Gary Ross.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 at First United Methodist Church.  Cremation was chosen.  Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in care of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Habitat for Humanity or Great Plains Health and Hospice.
