Funeral Services for Kent DeLosh, age 73
March 27, 1948 - August 29, 2021

 Kent DeLosh age 73 of Arnold, died Sunday August 29, 2021 at the North Plate Care Center.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 3, 2021, at 10:00 am at the United Methodist Church in Arnold with Pastor Lana Day officiating and Pastor Bill Williams officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Arnold Cemetery in Arnold, NE. Memorials are suggested to the Arnold Fire Department. A visitation will take place on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm, with family greeting 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Arnold Funeral Home in Arnold. Kent L. DeLosh was born on March 27, 1948, in Arnold, NE. He was the second of three children born to Betty (Nansel) DeLosh and Leon DeLosh. Kent attended Mackley School through the 7th grade then attended Arnold Public School graduating with the class of 1966.

Kent enlisted in the U.S. Army in March of 1967 and was a combat Medic in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in March of 1970. He continued his Military service with the US Reserves, retiring in April 1989. He was a very proud and active member of the VFW and American Legion.

Kent married Sue Lamberty on July 24, 1976. To this union two children were born. Marie Ann was born on February 20, 1977, and Donnell Tobe on November 19, 1986. Kent was very proud of his children and his grandchildren.

Kent spent his working years farming and ranching for himself and the local neighbors. He spent many years helping Bud Steburg as a tender brick layer. Kent was very passionate about his hunting, fishing, and camping. Labor Day was a favorite time of his, with his whole family camping in Valentine for the weekend. This was a tradition they had done for 30 years. He loved to get in a vehicle and drive. Kent probably drove more miles that anyone without ever leaving Custer County. Kent never knew a stranger, visiting with everyone he saw. He suffered for 16 years following pancreatic cancer and with every new ailment that came up, he courageously fought his way through it.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents, sister Toby Preston, and brother Dan DeLosh.

Survivors include his wife Sue of 45 years, daughter Marie (Arttie) Parker, and children Jaydon and Jaxon of Hershey, son Donnell (Cassy) and children Bexley and Dekker of Arnold, brother-in-law Jerry Preston and many nieces and nephews.
