Kenneth Everett True age 96, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at the Callaway District Hospital in Callaway, NE.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018, 10:00 AM at the Oconto Cemetery in Oconto, NE with Pastor Dean Haidle officiating. Burial will be in the Oconto Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of the arrangement. Online condolences can be left at www.govierbrothers.com.
Kenneth Everett True was born on March 26, 1922, near Waverly, SD to Augustus Everett True and Lucy (Clark) True. Kenny attended school at District 13 at Raueville through the 8th grade. After that, he stayed at home and farmed with his father. After moving several times, the family settled in the Yahoda community where he met and married Barbara Jackson on September 7, 1947. To this union was born a son, David Kenneth True. After a time, they moved to the Oconto community and farmed there for 8 years. The family moved to Longmont Colorado where Kenny was employed by the City of Longmont for 14 years until he retired in 1982. After living in Texas for a winter, Kenny and Barbara moved back to the community of Oconto in 1995. Kenny loved to travel and dance. Barbara passed away February 21, 2001, after a short illness.
Kenny is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, son David of Martinsville, VA, parents, brothers, Wayne True, Lawrence Elton True, Calvin True, sisters, Edna Mills, Pearl Linderer, Hila Rossow, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
