Gleasnor Porter age 88, formerly of Ansley/Arcadia, NE area passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at the Oxbow Living Center in Ashland, NE.

Memorial services for Gleasnor will be Friday, August 17, 2018, at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Ansley, NE with Pastor Jim Knootz officiating. Burial will follow in the Ansley Cemetery in Ansley, NE. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Gleasnor E. “Bubs” Porter was born April 10, 1930, in Litchfield Nebraska to Carl and Ruth Carlson. She grew up in the Central Nebraska area and graduated from Ansley High School in 1947. In 1948, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Ralph (Duff) Porter. They were blessed with three children: Susan, Steve, and Scott. They farmed and ranched northeast of Ansley and remained there after retirement.

Bubs was an active member of the Westerville and Ansley United Methodist Church. Besides raising three children and numerous pets, sewing, gardening, and sharing the farm labor kept her busy. Bubs and Duff enjoyed traveling, square dancing, and golfing with friends and family.

Bubs is survived by her three children: Susan (Dan) VanZandt of Omaha, Steve Porter of Norfolk, and Scott (Mary) Porter of Omaha; six grandchildren: Derek and David Musselmann of Omaha, Sara Mahalek of Alma, Brendan Porter of Omaha, Rachel Eason of San Antonio TX, Stephanie Grose of Denver CO; seven great-grandchildren; a sister: Melba Ondrak of Ashland, sisters-in-law: Pamela Berry of Golden, CO and Velma Carlson of North Platte.

She was preceded in death by her husband Duff, sister: Gladys (Freeman) Nida, brothers: Kermit (Velma) Carlson, Byron (Jackie) Carlson, Clayton (Marie) Carlson, brother-in-law: Clarence (Verlee) Porter, sisters-in-law: Penny (Arleigh) Sintek, and Jo (Amil Dobesh, Glen Rohde,) brothers-in-law: Dale Ondrak and Jack Berry.
