Gary D. Leck was born November 1, 1966, in Broken Bow, NE to Dennis and Judy (Gunther) Leck. Gary passed away at his home in Lincoln, NE on June 2, 2022. Gary grew up in Broken Bow with his only sibling Gayle Duryea.
Gary had one son Alex Drury of McCook, NE. Gary was a hard worker, working many hours a week at Capital City Refuse in Lincoln, NE. Gary took great pride in his work and made many friends along the way. He never hesitated to give someone a hard time just to get a laugh. His chihuahuas were his pride and joy. They rode everywhere he went enjoying all family functions with him.
Gary is survived by his mother Judy (Gunther) Leck of Broken Bow, his son Alex Drury (fiancée Brittanie Nolan) of McCook, sister Gayle (Randy) Duryea of Merna, niece Andrea (Richard) Wilder of Merna, nephew Elden (Alison) Duryea of Merna, great nieces & nephew Breanna Wilson, Montannah Wilder, Shalee Wilder, and Brayden Wilson of Merna. (He loved to tease that Andrea, she was his favorite niece until she had a child who was his new favorite), many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his father Dennis Leck of Broken Bow, grandparents Bill and Myrtle Gunther, and Dale and Ruby Leck.
Memorial services will be Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 10:00 am at Govier Brothers Chapel with Bob Klooz officiating. Inurnment will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements.
