Funeral Services for Delores M. Hendricks, age 89

Delores M. Hendricks age 89 of Broken Bow passed away on February 1, 2019 at the Jennie Melham Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 6, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with Dr. Jeff Hale officiating.  Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 5, 2019. 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting friends 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.  Memorials are suggested to the Gathering Place in Arcadia or the Arcadia United Methodist Church.

Delores Maxine Hendricks was born on April 18, 1929 to Cyrus and Eunice (Sevier) Gunther.  Delores attended school at Gates and graduated from Broken Bow High School. On April 13, 1946 she was married to Robert “Bob” Hendricks.  The family farmed with family for several years before purchasing their own place on Redfern Table. Through the years Delores worked at cafe’s in Oconto and Callaway. She also drove the school bus.  After 32 years in the Oconto area they moved to Dunning. While in Dunning, Mr. Hendricks did mechanic work while Delores worked at the cafe. In 1990, Delores and Bob moved to Arcadia. Mr. Hendricks died in 1995.  Delores continued to live in Arcadia until 2011 when she moved to Broken Bow.

Delores enjoyed cross stitching, puzzles, crossword puzzles, and decorating wedding cakes.  She also enjoyed wallpapering.

Delores is survived by her children; Dean (Janice) Hendricks of Valley Springs, SD, Neil (Vicky) Hendricks of Oconto, Sherilyn Hendricks of Kearney and Gene (Laura) Hendricks of Broken Bow, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  She is also survived by her brothers Dwain (Emma Lou) Gunther and Don Gunther all of Broken Bow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a young daughter, Janet Rae Hendricks and a grandson Kevin Hendricks.
