Funeral Services for Bette A. Conroy, age 94

Bette A. Conroy, 94 of Oconto passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at her home.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday May 24, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St.Mary’s Catholic Church In Oconto with Father Jim Hunt officiating. A Christian wake service will be held Thursday, May 23rd at7:00 p.m. at St Mary’s Church in Oconto. Inurnment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Oconto. Memorials are suggested to the Oconto Fire and Rescue Unit or AseraCare Hospice in Kearney, Nebraska.
She was born November 13, 1927 in Moorefield, Nebraska to Lewis and Ethel (Palmer) Berg. 
She graduated from Brady High School with the class of 1942.

She was united in marriage to Wilbert Kauffman on Dec 2 1945 he preceded her in death on June 9, 1949.

On May 13, 1952 she was united in marriage to Paul Conroy in Stapleton, NE. The couple had met at a dance in Stapleton. In 1960 the couple moved to the Oconto area.

Bette worked in the Sale Barn Cafe, Plectron in Overton and later was a house keeper for many years at the Callaway Good Samaritan Center in Callaway.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oconto.

She enjoyed sewing, doing various crafts, taking care of her kittens, quilting, baking cookies and was considered the Jelly “Queen”. She also enjoyed being with her family and many friends
.

Bette is survived by three sons: Maynard and wife Deb of Gordon, Nebraska, Mike and wife Sandy of Franktown, Colorado and Mitch and wife Lanett of Oconto, Nebraska; three daughters: Vicky and husband Chuck Eggleston of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Paula and husband Jeff Ingram of Overton, Nebraska and Pam and husband Larry Karschner of Kearney, Nebraska; one sister, Gwen and husband Kenneth Pitney of San Diego, California; seventeen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great- great grandchild and  her 2 loving cats Minnie and Holly.
  
Bette was preceded in death by her husbands: Wilbert Kauffman and Paul Conroy on March 7, 2008, one granddaughter, Morgan Conroy and one grandson, Kyle Karschner.
